Black Girls CODE to get funding from Lyft’s Round Up & Donate program

In honor of Black History Month, Lyft has joined forces with Black Girls CODE, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing the number of women of color working in technology. The partnership will help Black Girls CODE reach their goal and introduce computer coding lessons to young girls from underrepresented communities in Milwaukee and across the country, just by taking a Lyft ride. The Milwaukee RiverWalk District will hold its annual meeting on February 13, and honor three individuals with a 2018 Gertie Award for their vision and determination to improve the district. Brewers cut Klement’s from racing sausage tradition after 25 year partnership

What began as dancing pixels across the former County Stadium scoreboard in the 1990s, evolved into a popular costumed race at Miller Park that gained fame throughout Major League Baseball. Franklin High School officials took action on January 23 to address an incident that occurred sometime the previous afternoon involving a racist message. Jacob Romanski, a junior at Franklin High School, posted a photo he took on January 22 to social media where it was widely shared and commented on.
