The Milwaukee Independent takes privacy very seriously. As an advertisement-free news platform, we do not deploy any tracking technology about our readers. While we rather focus on simply what we do, most of our privacy policy explains what we do not do. Our philosophy does not follow to the industry standards about Personally Identifiable Information (Pii). Therefore, this policy details what we do not collect, and what we do not use, to protect your data within our news website.
  • What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our blog, website or app?
    We do not collect information from visitors of our site or other details to help you with your experience.
  • When do we collect information?
    We collect information only from you when you directly subscribe to our newsletter, or fill out a contact form on our site.
  • How do we use your information?
    We may use the information we collect from you, when you send an eMail inquiry, to follow up with the correspondence.
  • How do we protect your information?
    We only provide articles and information. We never ask for credit card numbers. We do not use an SSL certificate because MI does not process financial information.
  • Do we use ‘cookies’?
    We do not use cookies for tracking purposes. You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. Since each browser is a little different, look at your browser’s Help Menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. If you turn cookies off, your site experience will be more efficient will not affect the ability or function of viewing MI in any way.

    We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your Personally Identifiable Information.

    We do not include or offer third-party products or services on our website.

    We have not enabled Google AdSense on our site nor do we plan to do so in the future.
