Community leaders joined the Greater Milwaukee Foundation on July 20 to launch “On the Table,” an effort to rally people and organizations across all sectors of the community to generate ideas and ignite action for the benefit of the region and its future. 88Nine Radio commissions neighborhood murals to spark dialogue with art

Two colorful, original murals aimed at spurring community conversations will be created by Milwaukee artists on large blank building walls in the Near West Side and Walker’s Point neighborhoods, as a result of an 88Nine Radio Milwaukee (88.9 WYMS-FM) initiative. Radio Milwaukee recently applied for and received a grant from the Mary L. Nohl Fund to pay artists for the project. Sailing camp teaches local students how to navigate a future on freshwater

Along Lake Michigan for the next few weeks, Milwaukee’s future sailors are perfecting their nautical skills as part of a joint program from Discovery World and the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center. The partnership continues efforts by both organizations to teach local youth the world of sailing. The Benedict Center announced the expansion of its Sisters Diversion Program, a street-level diversion for women in street prоstіtutіоn, to the city’s south side at a press conference on July 13 at the Hope House of Milwaukee.
