With a multi-ethnic background, family hardships, and experience in code-switching between vastly diverse cultures across the North and South sides of Milwaukee, Toni Rivera Joachin finds herself as a community advocate for the historic neighborhood where she grew up as a young Latina. Her experience offers a unique perspective on a wide range of Hispanic issues, from immigration to being marginalized by society.
