Federal Government rejects Milwaukee County’s 287g bid after community outcry
On November 14 the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) rejected an application to give Milwaukee County Sheriff’s deputies authority to separate immigrant families under the 287g program. DHS did, however, approve 287g applications from Waukesha County and 22 other jurisdictions nationwide.
