The Vine brings new wine and food options to beer garden at Bay View’s Humboldt Park

A new wine and beer garden operated by Milwaukee County, called “The Vine Humboldt,” will open in Bay View at Humboldt Park for Memorial Day weekend and offer local beer, wine on-tap, and food options from Triciclo Peru. The announcement came from Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele, 14th District Supervisor Jason Hass, and Milwaukee County Parks. The Vine Humboldt will have two red and three white wines on-tap, as well as additional wine options. Retrospective of James Nares spotlights an artistic career of gesture, motion, and time

The Milwaukee Art Museum will present the first retrospective for New York-based artist James Names this summer. On view June 14 through October 6, 2019, Nares: Moves is the first exhibition to explore in depth the artist’s films as central to his artistic practice, and will also highlight his significance to contemporary art through his photographs, drawings, paintings and sculpture. MSOE plans $32M transformation of Residence Hall into a “Living-Learning Community”

Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) unveiled plans on April 29 to transform the Roy W. Johnson Residence Hall located at 1121 N. Milwaukee Street, into a multi-purpose Living-Learning Community. Milwaukee Athletic Club building to undergo $70M of extensive renovations this year

The new owners of the Milwaukee Athletic Club announced on April 25 that the building will undergo substantial renovation to provide a new home for Milwaukee’s only private social and full-service athletic club. The joint venture development team of J. Jeffers & Company and Interstate Development Partners, along with partner Sage Hospitality, recently closed on the purchase of the 758 N. Broadway building. Sculptures of historical Milwaukee Road workers to unveil on Hank Aaron State Trail

The Friends of Hank Aaron State Trail announced plans to install a five-sculpture monument, called People of the Road, honoring the legacy of the thousands of dedicated men and women who worked for the Milwaukee Road railroad shops. Two of the five sculptures will be unveiled on May 4, followed by the Inaugural Hank Aaron State Trail Spring Ride, which will lead bikers to the recently reopened west end of the Trail. Milwaukee County kicks off annual legislative advocacy program for senior residents

The Milwaukee County Department on Aging launched its annual training program recently by hosting residents over 60 from districts around the county to discuss advocacy, policy and issues of importance to seniors.
