Island Knights: Milwaukee native puts tech skills to work supporting rescue operations in the Pacific

A 2016 Dominican High School graduate and Milwaukee native is serving in the U.S. Navy with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25 on the island of Guam. Petty Officer 3rd Class Grace Shoulders is an information systems technician serving with HSC 25, known as the “Island Knights,” a versatile squadron that’s capable of completing a number of important missions for the Navy with the MH-60S “Seahawk” helicopter. Historic block of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel campus sold for adaptive redeveloped

J. Jeffers & Co. announced on October 31 that it had closed on a real estate transaction to purchase the Journal Communications Building and the adjoining properties from the Gannett Newspaper company. It plans to begin an adaptive reuse plan of the historic block and the buildings on it. Joshua Jeffers, President and CEO of J. Sixteenth Street expands access to critical services with new health care center on south side

The clinic will be located within a new apartment building, aimed at addressing the community’s housing needs. Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers and Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network presented details on October 23 about the opening of a new clinic. The facility would address critical issues that affect the health of Milwaukee’s underserved communities. The clinic is expected to open in late 2020.
