The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter hosted a panel of female leaders from Milwaukee on February 19 at Transfer Pizzeria Café, to share their insight, experience, and the efforts it took for them to get a “seat at the table” as communications professionals. Major General Paul Kennedy visits Milwaukee veterans and military families to shape Bloomberg policies

Retired Major General Paul Kennedy and Graham Pulliam visited Milwaukee on February 20 to meet with veterans and military families on behalf of Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg, and to gather policy input from local voices. In January, Bloomberg revealed the formation of “Veterans and Military Families for Mike,” designed to connect with military voters during the 2020 race. Thanks a Million: Milwaukee’s streetcar celebrates its 1,000,000th rider

Mayor Tom Barrett and Alderman Robert Bauman rode The Hop on February 21 during the lunch hour to celebrate the transit system’s milestone of reaching one million riders. Along with Public Service Ambassadors from Milwaukee Downtown BID #21, they also distributed free “Thanks A Million” coupon books to streetcar riders. Wisconsin’s largest Anime and Japanese cultural event, Anime Milwaukee (AMKE), hosted its 13th annual gathering from February 14 to 16 at the Wisconsin Center, welcoming more than 10,000 guests from the area, around the country, and overseas. Fans traveled from across the Midwest, the United States, and internationally to attend the three-day tribute of Japanese entertainment. The Milwaukee Public Library’s Central Branch hosted a special Milwaukee 2020 Host Committee event downtown on January 30 to formally launch the official volunteer portal. The website was designed to facilitate signups from individuals interested in becoming Milwaukee 2020 volunteers, and allow them to build their volunteer profile.
