Fans of Hello Kitty can look forward to exclusive goodies and limited-edition collectibles when it arrives for the first time to Wisconsin and parks at Mayfair Mall on May 12.

Since the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck made its debut in October 2014 as part of Sanrio’s first food-related venture, the cafe on wheels has delighted thousands of fans from all over the country, drawing crowds of of Hello Kitty lovers at each stop.

Hello Kitty is the beloved Japanese cartoon character produced by Sanrio. The product line is worth about $7 billion a year and remains a staple of the kawaii segment of Japanese popular culture. Sanrio brought the character to the United States in 1976, and broadened the appeal to consumers of all ages.

Local fans of Hello Kitty will be able to pick up snacks and collectibles inspired by the fictional character, when the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck arrives in Wauwatosa.

Customers will be able to purchase exclusive treats including cookies, macarons, and pocket pies that are not sold online, in addition to popular items like thermal bottles, keychains, and t-shirts.

To date, two Hello Kitty Cafe trucks have traveled to more than 60 cities across both coasts. For 2018, new cities have been added to the truck’s expanding routes.
