Sam Belton to open new jazz coffeehouse in Harambee building renovated by Bader Philanthropies

Bader Philanthropies announced on September 25 that it would begin renovation on a two-story building located at the corner of North Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and North Fifth Street. The renovated building, located across from its global headquarters at 3300 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in the Harambee neighborhood, is tentatively scheduled to open in spring 2020. Before graduating in 2018 from Shorewood High School, Katie Eder had already founded two social impact groups, Kids Tales and 50 Miles More. MSOE opens Diercks Hall with “Rosie” supercomputer named for female programmers of WWII

The Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) celebrated the grand opening of the 65,536-square-foot Dwight and Dian Diercks Computational Science Hall and its cutting edge supercomputer on September 13. Located at 1025 N. Milwaukee Street, the building was made possible with a $34 million gift from MSOE alumnus Dwight Diercks and his wife Dian, and featuring a NVIDIA GPU-powered supercomputer.
