Wisconsin National Guard’s “Red Arrow” brigade begins multinational deployment for Ukraine mission

Approximately 160 Wisconsin National Guard Soldiers arrived in Ukraine recently and assumed responsibility of the Joint Multinational Training Group – Ukraine. The Camp Douglas-based headquarters of the 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team deployed in November as Task Force Juvigny to Ukraine’s Combat Training Center – Yavoriv. “No nation can confront today’s challenges alone,” said Col. American Family Insurance and MB Acquisition will partner to renovate a 110-year-old downtown Milwaukee landmark, turning a former commercial printing and hosiery manufacturing building into a state-of-the-art office while preserving its historic character. Mount Mary University will soon be the site of an intergenerational housing community for retired sisters and seniors, and will provide an educational and supportive housing option for single mothers who are students at Mount Mary. New law finally sets the long overdue termination date for Miller Park tax

Governor Tony Evers signed a bill on November 20 that will end a five-county tax that was instituted in 1996 to pay for construction of Milwaukee’s Miller Park. About $600 million has been collected the past 23 years to pay for construction and interest costs at the stadium that’s home to the Brewers and opened in 2001. Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele signed the 2020 county budget on November 19, which makes significant investments in public transportation, public safety and neighborhood investments in communities most in need. Milwaukee Area Technical College welcomed a new group of students fall, the first-ever attendees to take advantage of the “MATC Promise for Adults.” The program provides eligible students up to 75 credits of free tuition, after other scholarships and grants are applied – to complete an in-demand associate degree.
