The Wisconsin Dental Association is donating the personal protective equipment (PPE) that would have been used for the large-scale event to Wisconsin Emergency Management to help medical workers curb the spread of coronavirus. Governor Tony Evers formally directed Department of Health Services (DHS) Secretary-designee Andrea Palm on March 24 to issue a Safer at Home order that prohibits all nonessential travel, with some exceptions as clarified and defined in the order, to stem the continued spread of COVID-19 in the state. Health officials with the City of Milwaukee Health Department (MHD) confirmed Milwaukee’s first presumptive case of novel coronavirus, COVID-19 on March 13. The individual reportedly contracted the illness from close contact to a confirmed COVID-19 case. MHD is awaiting confirmation testing from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), but health officials consider the presumptive results actionable. The patient is a female aged between 30 and 35 years of age, and is currently isolating at home.
