Cesar Chavez Day has been a commemorative holiday by proclamation of President Obama since 2014, to honor the labor organizer and union leader who dedicated his life to the working conditions, pay, and treatment of farm workers. As a special tribute from the Latino community this year, his life-sized bronze statue was unveiled on the south side of Milwaukee. Fundraising events collected the $50,000 needed to erect the monument, which stands in front of El Rey supermarket, along Cesar E. Chavez Drive. Pabst donations on 180th birthday honor animal charity

The Pabst Mansion celebrated the anniversary of the 180th birthday of Captain Fredrick Pabst on March 28, by partnering with the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS).
