The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) launched a new website and telephone hotline on February 1 to help passengers learn about upcoming changes related to the first phase of its MCTS NEXT system redesign. In response to the ongoing pandemic, The Milwaukee Rep announced on February 1 that it must cancel all live performances through April and make significant changes to its previously announced Season Reset programming. Originally slated to start mid-February, “Ella Fitzgerald: First Lady of Song” with Alexis J Roston (Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill) will be rescheduled for in person performances beginning April 27 and running through May 23, 2021 in the Quadracci Powerhouse Theater. After careful consideration, the Shamrock Club of Wisconsin and Westown Association have made the decision to postpone the 54th Shamrock Club of Wisconsin St. Patrick’s Day Parade scheduled for March 13. Murals on two Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) bus shelters now feature winning artwork from the Marcus Performing Art Center’s 2020 Martin Luther King, Jr. Art Contest, which was open to K-12 students in Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, and West Bend. The first shelter is located across the street from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School at MLK Drive and Concordia Avenue in Milwaukee.
