Actor, comedian, and TV host John McGivern is returning to local airwaves. MKE It Back: More than 70 small business owners to get financial assistance with grant from Downtown BID

Milwaukee Downtown BID #21 launched the “MKE It Back” Grant program in February to assist downtown small businesses in their recovery from the pandemic. More than 70 restaurants, bars, salons, barbershops, and retailers will be the recipients of the grant, bringing the total grant allocation to $250,000. Funding could be applied towards operating expenses or innovative marketing pivots in response to the pandemic. The Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) announced on February 22 that Tiffany Krihwan would be the new Captain of the historic Schooner Ernestina-Morrissey, a renovated tall ship which is expected to arrive at the Cape Cod campus in the Fall of 2021. Nō Studios founder John Ridley announced on February 22 that the organization had established the Nō Studios Artist Grant Program. A local family-owned business announces the launch of a new educational product, “Blackistory,” an African American History app available on Apple and Google platforms as well as online. The company, Kairo Communications – owned by business partners Deborah Blanks, Geraud Blanks, and Element Everest Blanks, finalized the app after several years of product development and testing.
