Travel bloggers coming to Milwaukee for summit and fun

More than 500 female travel bloggers, influencers, and industry members will be exploring the Cream City as they meet for their annual conference. The Women in Travel Summit 2017 (WITS) comes to Milwaukee from April 21 to 23, when industry members will meet for a weekend of learning and networking. Walter Hood and his Hood Design Studio, have been chosen to create a new linear park within the Beerline Trail Neighborhood Development Project in Milwaukee’s Riverwest and Harambee area. The development project intends to sustain and enrich the lives of the people in Harambee and Riverwest by promoting health, well-being and prosperity through increase circulation of resources, voices, ideas, labor and creativity. City approves Sherman Park grants for employment and renovation

Grants, funded with money from the State of Wisconsin, will provide up to $10,000 toward the rehab cost of each home. A competitive selection process has ended with six organizations selected to take part in the Milwaukee Employment/Renovation Initiative (ME/RI). The selected firms will renovate a total of up to 100 tax-foreclosed homes in an area south of Capitol Drive, north of Lloyd Street, west of 20th Street, and east of 60th Street. MCTS offers hassle-free rides to Miller Park on Opening Day

Starting with the season home opener on April 3, the Brewers Line runs a direct route along Wisconsin Avenue to the MCTS transit area at Miller Park.
