Milwaukee allocates $15 Million in CARES Act Funding to city residents for rent support and assistance

Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit Wisconsin in early March, the City of Milwaukee has been actively working to keep Milwaukee families housed. Milwaukee DNC partners donate 75 Apple laptops to MPS to expand tech resources for virtual education

The Democratic National Convention Committee and Milwaukee 2020 Host Committee, alongside Representative Gwen Moore of Milwaukee and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, announced a donation on August 16 of over 75 MacBook Air notebook computers to the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) system. A new public art project in downtown Milwaukee is spreading messages of hope and encouragement. Nearly 60 street pole banners were installed along Water Street and Kilbourn Avenue to celebrate the virtues of democracy, as well as the public spaces and city streets that have hosted demonstrations of our First Amendment Right over the course of our nation’s history. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee (BGCGM) recently made the decision to extend its meal distribution program to continue serving local students.
