Governor Tony Evers announced the release of the Year of Clean Drinking Water Report on January 8, prepared at his request by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) outlining the path to clean water for all. Governor Evers declared 2019 the Year of Clean Drinking Water. Action began immediately with several key initiatives that were included in the Governor’s 2019-21 biennial budget proposal. Coalition of organizations in Milwaukee forms to support victims of hate-motivated incidents

The Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council (MMFHC) recently announced the formation of a coalition of organizations working together to support victims of hate-motivated incidents. The coalition, which calls itself the Community Response Network, has developed a rapid response strategy when hate-motivated incidents occur in our region. “Hate incidents based on race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability and other characteristics can make victims feel isolated, afraid and alone,” said William R. Proposed legislation would provide affordable housing for volunteer firefighters and first responders

U.S. Senators Tammy Baldwin recently co-introduced bipartisan legislation to provide affordable housing opportunities for volunteer firefighters and first responders in order to help recruit and retain more volunteers, particularly in rural and under-served communities.
