New Mill Road Library moves ahead after tax credit award

The plan calls for 65 units of mixed-income apartments with a 17,500 square foot library on the ground floor. Milwaukee Public Library (MPL) received an announcement from the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) that the development team of Royal Capital Group and Maures Development Group has been awarded $805,063 in Low Income Housing Tax Credits. The half million dollar gift will help training and scholarships for Wisconsin’s first Adult Promise Program and advance the education of 53206 ZIP code students. Juneau Park taps the keg to open its Traveling Beer Garden

The Traveling Beer Garden, a partnership between Milwaukee County Parks and Sprecher Brewery, kicks off today at 4:00 pm with a keg tapping downtown at Juneau Park, and outside the city in Greenfield Park. Port Milwaukee bestowed with Robert J. Lewis Pacesetter Award

The Pacesetter award recognizes United States ports in the Great Lakes and along the St. Lawrence Seaway that see an annual increase in international cargo. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett accepted the Robert J. Lewis Pacesetter Award on May 11 from the St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation.
