Bee the Change combats social stigmas

Bee the Change, a non-profit organization based in Redeemer Lutheran Church, trains meal program participants to be beekeepers and increases awareness of the importance of having beehives in urban areas. Over 90,000 bees are busy at work making honey, carrying pollen, and building honeycombs on the rooftop of Redeemer Lutheran Church, located on 19th Street and Wisconsin Avenue, at the edge of Marquette University’s campus. Urban Ecology Center’s HKE MKE raises funds for environmental education

The second annual HKE MKE raised money to support the Urban Ecology Center’s mission of environmental education and land stewardship. The Urban Ecology Center held the second annual HKE MKE (“Hike Milwaukee”) on September 18 at its Riverside location. The event attracted downtown and suburban Milwaukeeans alike, to enjoy the 15-acre arboretum along the Milwaukee River. Guest House celebrates completion of homeless shelter expansion

The Guest House of Milwaukee welcomed the public to an Open House event that showcased the organization’s missions to support the homeless in the local community. The Guest House of Milwaukee hosted an Open House on September 15 in celebration of its brand new 8,000 sq. ft. expansion and renovation. Women are statistically underrepresented in the field of philosophy. Two Marquette University philosophy professors weighed in on why this is gender-based situation. Philosophy, a discipline that champions feminist fundamentals such as knowledge, values, and reason, is unequal in when it comes to women in higher education.
